Sun children
All is light –
All that is wholesome, noble and just.

Sun rains light.
Drapes with warmth.
Feeds the plant
That feeds the man.
Sun is energy.
Intelligence.

O light O joy.

Your brightness dazzles, O Sun.
Do not ravish me with your fire.

Sun is sight:
Daffodils and jacarandas
Scarlet gingerlilies
– The miracle of colours.
Famish my throat
Not my eyes.

Life unfolds in multi-colour petals.

Your brightness dazzles, O Sun.
Do not turn your face from me.

Children of light
Children of Sun
All is light –
All that is wholesome, noble and just.

From my forthcoming collection: Four Serenades: Water, Earth, Wind and Fire.
