Travelling in Style – Bonny River was the way most slaves travelled enroute to the export terminal, Bonny Island. (Excuse the seeming insensitivity of the word ‘export’). Bonny River is the inspiration for the poems: ‘Conversation’, ‘By the Rivers of Bonny’, and ‘A War Song’.
